We are Fastmicro, a scale-up company in the Brainport region focusing on particle detection for ultra clean products and environments (0.5µm and up). Established in 2019 as a TNO spin-off and currently located in Geldrop, near Eindhoven. Our primary focus is aimed at the semiconductor-and display market where we develop and produce systems capable of direct measurements on smooth surfaces e.g. silicon and compound materials. For parts qualification with curved or rough surfaces we have developed an indirect method of peeling off particles and bringing them to our scanner. Our most advanced systems are capable of detecting particles down to 100nm.

Our mission is to enable our customers to qualify their products on particle cleanliness and help them in finding the root causes of their particle contamination.


Due to growth of our organization we are currently looking for a Service Engineer to further strengthen our relationships with our clients and further solidify our growth ambition.


Role description

Service Engineering plays an important role in the growth of our company. In this position you will be servicing our systems in the field. Fastmicro has clients across the globe, meaning you will be traveling frequently. The main purpose of this position is to service and calibrate our systems on location by making sure our clients can use our systems as intended, without equipment failure. Besides understanding our products on a technical level, you will also interact frequently with clients, e.g. with operators, engineers but also with management. In order to succeed it is therefore important that you know how to get familiair and acquainted with different cultures and etiquettes.


As Service Engineer you will have an influential role in development, production and install base of our systems as you will be involved from A-Z during these phases. This will give you a great understanding of our systems, inside and out. Since you will be directly in contact with the end users of our systems, the development and production phases also heavily depend on your expertise and findings in the field (Design for Service and Safety).


Candidates with a more junior profile will start with servicing our local network and expand from there, whereas more experienced candidates (e.g. with servicing experience) will be able to combine both local and international servicing.


Further responsibilities include:

  • Calibrating and testing installed (optical) systems;
  • Providing project reports regarding executed activities and warrants;
  • Creating project and service documentation;
  • Arranging travel, accommodation and transport for your business trips;
  • Educating and training third-party service companies on location.


Our ideal candidate has / is:

  • 0-3 years of experience;
  • A Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar;
  • Experience with servicing or affinity with DIY-ing, repairing of (mechatronic) devices;
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral.
  • Dutch is considered a plus;
  • Problem solving mentality;
  • Experience with working with different cultures;
  • Willing to travel frequently for work.

What we offer you

  • Permanent contract;
  • Salary between €34.800 and €50.000 euro gross per year, depending on experience;
  • 25 holidays;

The process

Our application procedure consists of three interview rounds. The first interview will be with a colleague from our team and our recruiter. A second interview will be held with the hiring manager(s). In a last round we discuss the offer we would like to make you. We strive to finish the procedure within 4 weeks from applying.
